Thyroid Eye Clinic

Patients with thyroid disease can develop an eye disease often known as Graves’ Disease.  These patients have dryness, eyelid retractions and swelling.  In more severe cases, the eye pushes forward, and double vision or loss of vision can occur.  Drs. Sivak and Nguyen have a clinic dedicated to the treatment of patients with thyroid eye disease.  Both Drs. Sivak and Nguyen are actively involved in thyroid eye disease research on an international level and are part of the International Thyroid Eye Disease Society.  Click to learn more about thyroid eye disease.

The WVU Eye Institute established a special clinic to treat West Virginians with thyroid-related eye disease (TED). Our unique multidisciplinary team of specialists provides each patient the individualized care that is necessary in treatment of this disease.
