Outreach The West Virginia University Eye Institute is dedicated to improving the vision of residents of West Virginia and the surrounding region. The WVU Eye Institute provides outreach services for children and adults throughout West Virginia. Two of our outreach programs include Children’s Vision Rehabilitation Program (CVRP) and Appalachian Vision Outreach Program (AVOP). Our physicians and staff also provide monthly free screening clinics at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center in Gilbert, WV. Children's Vision Rehabilitation Project Thanks to our partnerships with local organizations like West Virginia Lions Clubs, WV Association of Free Clinics, Spectrum Optical, WV State Department of Education, and contributions from individuals and foundations, we are able to bring many of our services to counties throughout our state.
