Radiology Services Lab Draw Services Hours Monday – Friday 7:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. WVU Cheat Lake Physicians offers you and your family the convenience of providing laboratory services at the office. Blood draws and specimens are collected in the office by trained personnel. Tests are run either at Ruby Memorial Hospital or at a reference lab with which the patient’s health plan is contracted. Results are available to physicians and patients in a timely fashion. Physicians or their clinical services staff will contact patients to communicate any important information and to discuss any necessary follow-up care. Radiology Services Digital Mammography Here at Cheat Lake Physicians, an American College of Radiology accredited satellite facility of the WVU Betty Puskar Breast Care Center, we perform screening mammograms. Screening mammograms are performed when you have no symptoms of breast disease. We use soft touch mammography pads, which provide a more comfortable exam. To have a mammogram, you will need to contact your physician, who will then write an order for the mammogram to be performed. Radiology Services Digital Bone Density (DXA) Scans A digital bone density or DXA scan is a painless exam ordered by your physician to determine bone loss. The scan is most often done on the lower spine and hips. DXA scans are the most accurate method for diagnosing osteoporosis and are very accurate in determining fracture risk. If you are scheduled for a DXA scan, do not take any calcium supplements or multivitamins the day of your exam. Radiology Services Ultrasound Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive test that helps doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions.
