The WVU Healthcare Spine Center

The WVU Spine Center brings specialists together with a multidisciplinary team approach to provide our patients with comprehensive spinal care. We use a full range of treatment options to ensure that patients with spine problems get the treatment they need quickly, efficiently and easily.

The Spine Center combines the expertise of WVU neurologists, orthopaedic specialists, neurosurgeons, pain management physicians, and rehabilitation services to target every patient's particular problem and provide optimal treatment.

A Unique Approach to Spine Care

The WVU Spine Center has implemented a state-of-the-art program designed to get patients the treatment they need quickly, efficiently and easily.

Our Priority Consult program includes a pre-review of a patient’s medical condition and diagnostics by a spine specialist and prioritizes patients as appropriate for the initiation of care – usually within seven days of a referral.

With this system, our patients are matched with the appropriate physician for their condition – surgical versus non-surgical. The system saves patients multiple physician visits, and ensures patient care is coordinated among multiple departments.

WVU is the first academic medical center to implement this approach to spine care.
