WVU Occupational Medicine WVU Occupational Medicine provides multi-disciplinary services to meet the health and safety needs of workers and employers in West Virginia. Care for a variety of occupational injuries and diseases (plus skill and experience in handling paperwork and communication) make the Occupational Medicine practice an outstanding option for treating job and environment-related medical problems. Our doctors staff clinics in the Physician Office Center where they provide full-spectrum occupational and environmental medicine care. These services include: Pre-Placement/Post-Offer Employee Physical Evaluations OSHA mandated medical surveillance exams - Respirator clearance, hearing conservation, pesticide, lead, and asbestos surveillance Department of Transportation (DOT) Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) physicals by Nationally Certified Medical Examiner Quantitative Respirator fit testing Immigration exams by Civil Surgeon DOT and Non-DOT Urine Drug screen collection Breath Alcohol Testing by certified technicians Class I, II, III FAA exams Federal Black Lung exams Spirometry performed by NIOSH certified technicians Audiometry performed by CAOHC certified technicians Immunizations : TD, TDAP, Hepatitis A and B, MMR, Varicella, Herpes Zoster, Influenza TB Screenings Blood borne Pathogen prophylaxis and exposure management Vision screening, EKGs, Manual Lift Tests, and other services provided at request Workplace allergy skin prick testing sensitivity On-site workplace surveillance services throughout the state and surrounding region Workplace Fitness for Duty/ Return to work evaluations Workers’ compensation injury and illness treatment and coordination with other specialty care providers Chemical and environmental exposure evaluations Customized programs are available for injury and illness prevention, as well as worker wellness.
