WVU Healthcare Outpatient Center
People tell us they love our doctors, but wish they could see them in other locations, too. Our offices in the Cheat Lake area and at the WVU Heart Institute are serving hundreds of patients who want to see a WVU doctor without traveling all the way to the campus.
The new WVU Healthcare Outpatient Center will give patients a convenient option – just off Interstate 79 – to see their family doctor or pediatrician, or one of the many specialists who will have offices there.
Nearly 3 out of 4 patients we see at WVU Healthcare are from outside Monongalia County. This location will be particularly convenient for many of these patients.
The new center will have benefits on campus, too. The growing number of students training at WVU for health careers need classroom, lab, and study spaces; this project will allow us to move some of our clinic space out of the Health Sciences Building and open up new student facilities.
The Outpatient Center will also mean more room for our expanding faculty. We are adding about 50 new doctors over the next several years. This will allow us to do that without overcrowding the on-campus clinics.
