WVU Children’s Hospital to hold 11th annual gala Saturday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Supporters of WVU Children’s Hospital at Ruby Memorial will be “Puttin’ on the Ritz” on Saturday (Feb. 8) for the 11th annual gala, which will be held at the Morgantown Event Center at Waterfront Place.

The black-tie event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by the program and dinner at 7 p.m. The program will feature the presentation of the WVU Children’s Hospital Award and the WVU Children’s Hospital Community Leader Award.

West Virginia 2014 Champion Child Allissondra Waldron of Morgantown and her family will talk about the care she has received at WVU Children’s Hospital.

Following dinner, gala attendees will have the opportunity to bid on several big ticket items during the live auction.

The evening will wrap-up with two musical acts – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Powerhouse Band.

Formed in 1989, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is a contemporary swing revival band from Southern California. Their hit singles include “Go Daddy-O” and “Mr. Pinstripe Suit.” The band has performed on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Big Bad Voodoo Daddy also performed at the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.
