Sprint, Splash and Spin Triathlon returns Aug. 23

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The WVU Healthcare Sprint, Splash and Spin triathlon will be Aug. 23 and 24 at Marilla Park and Pool in Morgantown.

The event is a fundraiser for Mon County Habitat for Humanity.

The children’s triathlon, for those under age 14, will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 and will not be timed. Participants will swim 66 yards (two lengths of Marilla Pool), bike 1.5 miles and run a half mile.

The adult competition will be from 7-11 a.m. Aug. 24. Adults can participate as an individual or as part of a team. Competitors will swim 300 meters (10 lengths of Marilla Pool), bike 10.9 miles from Marilla Park towards Star City on the Rail Trail and run a 5K from Marilla Park into Sabraton on the Rail Trail.

Pre-registration is required and is available online and in person. The cost to register is $60, $96 for teams ($32 per person) and $26 for kids. Registration closes Aug. 15.
