WVU Healthcare offers weight loss surgery seminar

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – When diet and exercise haven’t helped, surgery may be the answer for someone struggling with obesity. WVU Healthcare’s Comprehensive Surgical Weight Loss Program will host a free information session from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24 in Room G252F in the WVU Health Sciences Center.

Participants will learn more about the WVU Bariatric Surgery Program and its services, including roux-en-y gastric bypass, adjustable gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, revisional bariatric surgery, support groups, nutrition services and counseling.

WVU Bariatrics Medical Director Robert Quinlin, M.D., will answer questions and provide information during the session. Dr. Quinlin has been performing bariatric procedures exclusively for more than 10 years. He is board certified in surgery.

The WVU Bariatric Surgery Program offers a team approach to the comprehensive treatment of severe obesity and includes dietitians, clinical psychologists, physical therapists and others who work with each patient before, during and after surgery to ensure patients receive the best care.
