WVU Children’s Hospital to benefit from Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The dog days of summer are officially upon us, and nothing beats the heat quite like ice cream. On Thursday, Aug. 5, you can cool down with a Dairy Queen Blizzard and help support West Virginia University Children’s Hospital all at the same time with the Fifth Annual Miracle Treat Day.

For Miracle Treat Day, Dairy Queen will donate at least $1 of all Blizzards sold to Children’s Miracle Network. Since 1984, Dairy Queen has raised more than $81 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. WVU Children’s Hospital is the only Children’s Miracle Network hospital in West Virginia.

Participating Dairy Queen stores in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky will join forces to support WVU Children’s Hospital. Last year, Miracle Treat Day raised more than $31,000 for WVU Children’s Hospital.

“This is a really fun event, and we’re very grateful with this partnership with Dairy Queen,” Cheryl Jones, R.N., director of WVU Children’s Hospital, said. “People of all ages love ice cream, especially in the summer. This is an event the whole family can participate in.”
