WVUH Nursing Services’ annual Community Drive is Aug. 4

Collections will benefit Christian Help

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. –West Virginia University Hospitals’ Nursing Services will hold their 12th annual community clothing drive Wednesday, August 4 from 7:45 a.m.-2 p.m. at the former Foodland building located on the Mileground.

“Professionally, our nurses strive to make a difference in the lives of the men, women and children we serve every day,” Mary Fanning, director of nursing administration at WVU Hospitals, said. “The drive is a way for us to make a positive impact in a different way.”

The Community Drive, part of the United Way’s Day of Caring, will benefit Christian Help, a United Way agency.

The following items are being collected: non-perishable foods, toiletries, personal care items, medical scrub suits, and back-to-school items such as clothes, shoes, socks and underclothing (new). Donations should be in new or excellent condition. All donations are tax-deductable.

For those wanting to drop off donations early, WVU Hospitals’ Volunteer Services Office will be collecting items weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday, July 19, through Tuesday, August 3. The office is located on the first floor of Ruby Memorial Hospital.
