Patients can honor WVU doctors online

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Patients can give their doctors a pat on the back for National Doctor’s Day, Tuesday, March 30. In honor of the day, West Virginia University has established a place on the Internet for patients to express their appreciation for WVU physicians. This nationwide effort is a day to show appreciation for the role of America’s physicians in caring for the sick and advancing the art and science of medicine.

This is the fourth year WVU has been involved in the annual celebration.  Last year, WVU physicians received hundreds of expressions of appreciation from grateful patients.

Patients can write a brief personal message of appreciation to one or more physicians, or make a gift in a physician’s honor to support health care provided by WVU.

To let a special doctor at WVU know how much you appreciate his or her commitment to your good health, go to www.hsc.wvu.edu/development. Click on the Help Us Celebrate National Doctor’s Day icon in the lower left corner to submit your message.  Doctor’s Day brochures are also located throughout WVU Hospitals and clinics and at participating area pharmacies.

Each honored physician will receive a certificate including the patient’s written expression of appreciation and will be recognized at WVU’s Doctor’s Day celebration.
