Bonnie’s Bus in Taylor County Monday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Bonnie’s Bus will spend the day at the Tygart Valley Total Care Clinic in Taylor County Monday (Aug. 17).  Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bonnie’s Bus is a mobile mammography unit offering digital mammograms. The mammograms are not free, but billing to third-parties is provided.  Women who lack insurance may be matched to government or nonprofit charities. A physician’s order is needed for a mammogram. For a Bonnie’s Bus appointment, call 304-739-4867.

The 40-foot-long Bonnie’s Bus, underwritten by a $2.5 million gift from West Virginia natives Jo and Ben Statler to West Virginia University’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, is owned and operated by WVU Hospitals. The bus is named after Mrs. Statler's late mother, Bonnie Wells Wilson. The bus made its first stop in Blacksville, Monongalia County, the Statlers’ hometown, on April 15.

Bonnie’s Bus represents a statewide partnership of women’s groups, clinicians, public health professionals and other community leaders to help reduce the number of deaths from breast cancer in West Virginia.
