WVU Hospitals’ Leadership Scholars announced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Hospitals has named Rachel Halbritter, of Morgantown, and Eric Morris, of Fairmont, winners of this year’s Leadership Scholarships.

Bruce McClymonds, president and CEO of WVU Hospitals, will present the $1,000 scholarships at a luncheon July 31.

Each year, the hospital awards two scholarships to college-bound children of WVU Hospitals’ employees. The students have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement as well as leadership in school, community activities, employment or in a personal situation.

Halbritter, a Morgantown High graduate, and Morris, an East Fairmont graduate, will attend WVU in the fall. Halbritter plans to study primary education, and Morris plans to study exercise physiology/pre-med.

Rachel is the daughter of Theresa Halbritter and Kevin Halbritter, M.D.  Dr. Halbritter is a WVU physician.  Eric is the son of pediatric clinical services manager Lisa Morris and her husband, Michael.
