Road maintenance at WVUH to begin Monday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Patients and visitors to West Virginia University Hospitals will notice some traffic delays starting Monday, June 22, when paving work begins on Medical Center Drive, the main road in front of Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Weather permitting, milling of Medical Center Drive between Elmer Prince Drive and Willowdale Road will take place Monday and Tuesday. Paving will take place Wednesday through Friday. The project will include the area under the Ruby Memorial Hospital canopy and the parking area near the WVUH Child Development Center.

Through traffic between Van Voorhis Road and Willowdale Road will be limited.

Work is scheduled to begin nightly at 6 p.m. Once the asphalt is rolled out, patients and visitors will be able to walk and drive on it. Crosswalks will be returned to their original locations June 27 and 28.

Staff from the WVUH Security Department will be on hand to assist with traffic control and to help those crossing the street from the parking lot to the building while the work is being done.
