Program to help quit smoking starts April 30

Wellness Program offers lunchtime class to public

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – A seven-week Freedom from Smoking class will meet every Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. The program, sponsored by the Wellness Program at West Virginia University Health Sciences, will begin April 30.

The program, which costs $25, is open to the public. The class will meet in the John E. Jones Conference Center.

The class features a small group setting and an interactive learning environment covering topics such as medications that can help people stop smoking, lifestyles that make quitting easier, managing stress, avoiding weight gain and staying smoke-free for good.
