Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning induction ceremony is April 27

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center will hold the Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning inaugural induction ceremony Monday, April 27, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in room 1901 of the Learning Center with a reception to follow in the Pylons Atrium.

The Teaching Academy is designed to advance the educational mission of WVU Health Sciences through innovation, collaboration and scholarship by recognizing faculty for excellence in education.

“The Academy of Excellence in Teaching and Learning will bring together faculty across health sciences with demonstrated expertise and excellence in teaching to better serve our learners, patients and communities,” Rashida Khakoo, M.D., assistant vice president of faculty development, said.

Members of the academy are inducted based on teaching awards received from any year from university, department, school, state and national organizations. Members also include graduates of the HSC Teaching Scholars Program.
