Public invited to diabetes talk 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Diabetes is the subject of a talk open to the public at West Virginia University in Room 1905 of the Health Sciences Learning Center, Wednesday, March 4, at noon. "Lifestyle Interventions for Diabetes Prevention & Control" is the title of the grand rounds presentation by Cindy Fitch, Ph.D., of the WVU Extension Service and associate professor of human nutrition and foods.

Fitch will describe the burden of diabetes in the United States and explain lifestyle practices to prevent or delay the disease. She will also discuss lifestyle interventions to manage diabetes and methods to translate clinical recommendations into public health strategies.

Physicians, nurses and dentists can earn continuing medical education credits by attending the lecture.

No reservation is necessary, and the talk is free.

The lecture is cosponsored by the WVU Department of Community Medicine and the WVU Injury Control Research Center.
