Go Red for Women luncheon is Tuesday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Now is the last chance to sign up for the Morgantown Goes Red Luncheon at noon, Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the West Virginia University Erickson Alumni Center, sponsored locally by Mon General Hospital and the WVU Heart Institute. Tickets cost $25 and can be purchased by calling 1-800-926-4278, ext. 7841, or sending e-mail to barbara.calvert@heart.org.

Speakers include Claudette Brooks, M.D., a neurologist and director of the Stroke Clinic in the National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health at WVU. She will talk about the symptoms and warning signs of stroke along with prevention tips. Betty Critch, executive director of the National Center of Excellence in Women's Health, will also speak.

Go Red for Women is an initiative of the American Heart Association. The No. 1 killer of women (and men) is heart disease. Macy’s and Merck are the national sponsors of Go Red for Women.
