‘Old Bags Luncheon’ to raise money for WVU Children’s Hospital

Events scheduled for Morgantown, Wheeling, Charleston

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Children’s Hospital and Friends of WVU Hospitals will host a joint fundraiser Sunday, Oct. 12, at the Waterfront Place Hotel at noon.

Sponsored by Platinum Properties and Lowe’s, the Old Bags Luncheon will include a cooking demonstration and book signing with Sandra Lee, host of the Food Network’s “Semi-Homemade.”

A guest speaker will discuss women’s issues, and designer purses will be sold at a live auction. Anyone interested may donate new or slightly used handbags for the auction.

The Wheeling and Charleston schedule of Old Bags Luncheon events is: 

  • Wheeling, Oct. 9, at 1 p.m. at Oglebay Resort, sponsored by Chesapeake Energy and Lowe’s.
  • Charleston, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. at The Rooftop Pavilion at the Marriott, sponsored by Lowe’s.

Tickets are $100. Corporate tables for 10 are available in Morgantown and Charleston for $1,500.  Corporate tables for eight are available in Wheeling for $1,500.  The first 125 registered guests at all locations will receive an autographed book.
