WVU Eye Institute Offers BOTOX Cosmetic Sessions
BOTOX treatments will be available at reduced rate

For the first time, the West Virginia University Eye Institute will offer BOTOX cosmetic treatments to the public at a reduced cost.  This special offer is available on dates this fall:  Oct. 31, Nov. 16 and Dec. 12.

Appointments are necessary and time slots are limited.  To schedule an appointment, call the WVU Eye Institute at (304) 598-4905.

Jennifer Sivak, M.D., a board-certified surgeon and WVU associate professor of Ophthalmology, will perform the BOTOX injections.  The cost to treat “crow’s feet” will be $200.  Treatment for wrinkles between the eyebrows will cost $300, and the cost to treat wrinkles on the forehead will range from $100 to $200.

BOTOX works by causing the muscle that is treated to relax, thereby reducing wrinkles.  In 2002 the FDA approved BOTOX for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65.  The effects from a BOTOX cosmetic treatment are visible within several days and usually last four months.
