Women on Wellness Retreat Saturday, Oct. 20

West Virginia University will host retreat in Romney

WVU’s Center of Excellence in Women’s Health will host a retreat at the South Branch Inn in Romney, W.Va., Saturday, Oct. 20.  The retreat will provide education about women’s healthcare needs and will also provide inspiration for women to lead healthier lives.

The Women on Wellness Retreat, or W.O.W., participants will hear lectures on women’s health issues and have the opportunity to practice yoga, stretching, strength training and more.  Chair massages, reflexology, Reiki and health screenings will also be offered.  Women will leave the retreat with a personalized wellness program.

Registration for the retreat begins at 8 a.m. Saturday.  The one-day retreat concludes at 5:15 p.m.

The WVU Center of Excellence in Women’s Health is presenting the W.O.W Retreat in Romney, because one of its goals is to help woman across West Virginia improve their health and well-being.  Since about two-thirds of women make all of their family’s healthcare decisions, education and outreach directed toward women should improve the health of all West Virginians.

The WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center is designated as a Center of Excellence in Women’s Health by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of Women’s Health.
