Celebration of Life set for Robert Stitzel

WVU professor to be remembered

Friends, family and colleagues of the late Robert Stitzel, Ph.D., who served WVU for 42 years as an educator, scientist and administrator, will gather  on Sunday, October 28, for a Celebration of Life in his memory.  The program is from 3 – 4 p.m. in the WVU Health Sciences Center Auditorium.

Dr. Stitzel, a pharmacology professor, joined the WVU School of Medicine faculty in 1965.    During his career he received many awards for excellence in teaching, for his achievements in research, and for his work as a civil rights advocate. 

Dr. Stitzel, 70, died September 1, 2007, of cancer.
