Designs for 2007 Cards of Hope Announced

More than 4,000 votes were cast and the designs for the 2007 Cards of Hope holiday greeting cards have been selected.   Every year, former and current cancer patients at West Virginia University and their siblings design the cards, which are sold to benefit cancer care for children.

Designers of the 2007 collection are:

Brogan Raddish, 11, of Fairmont

Savannah Stalnaker, 11, and Isiah Dean, 4, of Buckhannon

Kayla Jarvis, 13, of Cowen

Ashley Koon, 14, and Glendon Koon, 9, of Morgantown

Autumn Moore, 16, of Parsons

Matt Dewitt, 17, of Shinnston

Carlie Geiser, 18, of Elkins

Kylie Clark, 15, of Martins Ferry, Ohio

Proceeds from the card sales benefit the Pediatric Cancer Care and Research Fund at WVU Children’s Hospital and the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.  The Fund ensures state-of-the-art medical care, as well as psychological and social support for patients and their families.

This was the first year the general public could vote for their favorite card design.  More than 4,000 votes were cast by text messaging U.S. Cellular, the Cards of Hope sponsor, or by visiting U.S. Cellular stores.

All of the original artwork, including those chosen as part of this year’s Cards of Hope collection, will be exhibited at regional U.S. Cellular stores. They will be sold during the annual Cash Bash and Auction at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown Nov. 10.  For Cash Bash and Auction ticket information, call Lora Edgell at (304) 293-0789.
