“Cars” for Family Night Under the Stars
Free movie sponsored by WVU Children’s Hospital

BOPARC will conclude this summer’s Family Night Under the Stars series at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater this Friday, August 31, with a special showing of “Cars,” sponsored by WVU Children’s Hospital. Admission is free. The film begins at dusk.

Before the movie begins, staff from WVU Children’s Hospital, along with employees from Kohl’s, will promote the Bridgeport department store’s Germ-free Kids Club Hand-washing Program. Kids can learn proper hand-washing techniques, a first line of defense against the spread of many illnesses and infections.

“This is our second year sponsoring a movie night,” said Peggy Myers-Smith, the manager of development at WVU Children’s Hospital. “We’re excited to partner with BOPARC and Kohl’s. We see this as a wonderful opportunity to educate the public about WVU Children’s Hospital and the importance of hand washing.”

“Cars,” with voices by Owen Wilson, Paul Newman and Bonnie Hunt, tells the story of a hotshot racecar named Lightning McQueen who gets waylaid in Radiator Springs, and finds the true meaning of friendship and family. The Oscar-nominated film is rated PG.

“Getting together with family and friends for Family Night under the Stars is a great way to spend a summer evening,” said Marissa Travinski, BOPARC program manager.

At the movie, refreshments will be available for purchase. In case of rain, the movie will be postponed. For more information, visit www.boparc.org.
