Heart Health to be promoted at Friday’s Family Night under the Stars

BOPARC will continue its Family Night under the Stars at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater Friday, August 10, with a special showing of “Charlotte’s Web,” sponsored by WVU Hospitals’ Cardiovascular and Interventional Services Department. Admission is free.  The film begins at dusk.

Staff and volunteers from the department will be there with information about heart health for adults and children. The evening will also feature “Dance, Dance Revolution” stations and kid-friendly giveaways.

“We look forward to participating in Family Night under the Stars,” said Wayne Cochran, director of cardiovascular and interventional services at WVU Hospitals.  “We’re excited to educate the public about our services and meet children from our community before they see the movie.”

“Charlotte’s Web,” with voices by Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts and Dakota Fanning, is based on the book by E.B. White.  It tells the story of Wilbur the pig who is scared he will end up on the dinner table. The film is rated PG.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.  In case of rain, the movie will be postponed.

“Getting together with family and friends for Family Night under the Stars is a great way to spend a summer evening,” Marissa Travinski, BOPARC program manager, said.

WVU Children’s Hospital will sponsor the movie “Cars” on August 31.
