WVU Hospitals to offer Multiphasic and PSA Health Screenings

Morgantown residents have two opportunities to identify current and potential health problems.  WVU Hospitals has teamed with the Rotary Club of Morgantown to offer multiphasic and prostate screenings (commonly referred to as a PSA).

Screenings will be offered from 6:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, August 11 and Saturday, August 18 at HealthSouth MountainView Regional Rehabilitation Hospital, located at 1160 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown.

The multiphasic screening provides 15 baseline blood analyses, including cholesterol and glucose levels.  It is available for $35.  For the most accurate results, multiphasic participants should not eat, drink or smoke for 12 hours prior to the screening.  Medication may be taken with small sips of water.

The PSA blood test measures a substance called prostate-specific antigen made by the prostate.  PSA may become elevated due to infection, enlargement of the prostate or prostate cancer.  The cost is $15.  Payment can be made at the time of the screening.

WVU Hospitals will not bill participants’ insurance companies for the screening.
