WVU Hospitals to Sponsor BOPARC’s  Family Night Under the Stars

MORGANTOWN, WV – BOPARC will continue its Family Night Under the Stars at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater this Friday, July 27, with a special showing of Happy Feet sponsored by WVU Children’s Hospital.  Admission is free and the film will begin at dusk.

Staff and volunteers from WVU Children’s Hospital will be on hand prior to the movie with information on the hospital and the services offered there. They will also be giving away popcorn.

“This is our second year to participate in Family Night Under the Stars,” said Peggy Myers-Smith, the manager of development programs at WVU Children’s Hospital.  “We’re excited to partner with BOPARC and see this as a wonderful opportunity to educate the public about WVU Children’s Hospital.”

Happy Feet, with voices by Nicole Kidman, Elijah Wood, and Hugh Jackman, tells the story of the Emperor Penguins who find their soul mates through song. The Oscar-winning film is rated PG for some mild peril and rude humor.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.  In case of rain, the movie will be postponed.

“Getting together with family and friends for Family Night Under the Stars is a great way to spend a summer evening,” said Marissa Travinski, the program manager for BOPARC.

Other WVUH departments and facilities will sponsor movies this summer including Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center, Barnyard, August 3; and Cardiovascular and Interventional Services, Charlotte’s Web, August 10.
