WVU Neurosurgeon on “Good Morning America”

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Julian Bailes, M.D., chair of neurosurgery at West Virginia University, is scheduled to appear on ABC-TV’s “Good Morning America” on Sunday, July 1.  Dr. Bailes was interviewed this week via satellite for a story about random testing of high school athletes for steroid use.

“I think random testing in high school is great and I applaud the states that have taken the bold action to make it happen,” said Bailes.  “This can be a powerful deterrent to abuse of these dangerous substances.”

Bailes is co-author of the book “When Winning Costs Too Much: Steroids, Supplements, and Scandal in Today’s Sports World,” and a consultant for the NFL Players Association on the lasting effects of head injuries.

“Good Morning America: Weekend Edition” can be seen on ABC television affiliates.
