WVU Hospitals to Sponsor BOPARC’s ‘Family Night Under the Stars’

MORGANTOWN, W. Va.  – BOPARC will continue its “Family Night Under the Stars” at the Hazel Ruby McQuain Amphitheater this Friday, June 22, with a special showing of “Over the Hedge” sponsored by West Virginia University Cheat Lake Physicians.  Admission is free and the film will begin at dusk.

Staff and volunteers from WVU Cheat Lake Physicians will be on hand prior to the movie with information on the Cheat Lake facility and the services offered there. They will also have kid-friendly giveaways including snow cones, temporary tattoos, and glow-in-the-dark jewelry.

“We are looking forward to participating in ‘Family Night Under the Stars’,” said Jaclyn Hatalowich, of WVU Cheat Lake Physicians.  “We’re excited to educate the public about our services and we look forward to meeting children from our community before they see the movie.”

"Over the Hedge," with voices by Bruce Willis, Gary Shandling, and Steve Carell, tells the story of a scheming raccoon that fools a mismatched family of forest creatures into helping him repay a debt of food by invading the new suburban sprawl that popped up while they were hibernating.  The film is rated PG for some rude humor and mild comic action.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.  In case of rain, the movie will be postponed.

“Getting together with family and friends for ‘Family Night Under the Stars’ is a great way to spend a summer evening,” said Marissa Travinski, the program manager for BoParc.

Several other movies will be sponsored by WVUH departments and facilities this summer. WVU Children’s Hospital will sponsor "Happy Feet" on July 27; Jon Michael Moore Trauma Center, "Barnyard," August 3; Cardiovascular and Interventional Services, "Charlotte’s Web," August 10; and the Diabetes Education Center, "Cars," August 31.
