Cancer Center to Offer Free Clinical Breast Exams

Part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at West Virginia University will offer free clinical breast exams from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 2. 

The exams are the first in a month-long series of free events in observance of breast cancer awareness month throughout October.

“In addition to diagnostic services, we provide education about prevention and early detection,” said Judith Schreiman, M.D., director of the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center. “This is a great opportunity for women learn more about the disease, and see what an outstanding facility we have.”

Following the breast exams, participants will be escorted to the Breast Care Center for a tour, instruction on breast self-exam, and refreshments.  The center will also offer breast imaging on a limited basis that evening, if a follow-up mammogram or ultrasound is warranted for a participant.
