Don Nehlen Book Signing

Hall of Fame Coach to Sign ‘Tales From the West Virginia Sideline’

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Legendary former West Virginia University football coach Don Nehlen will be signing copies of his new book at the Friends Gift Shop at Ruby Memorial Hospital from 3 to 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 24.

“Tales From the West Virginia Sideline” provides stories about the players, coaches, teams and games that shaped the Mountaineer program during Nehlen’s 21 years (1980-2000) at the helm.

The 2006 College Football Hall of Fame inductee also gives an insider’s view to the 1988 and 1993 unbeaten regular seasons, both campaigns earning him National Coach of the Year honors.

Nehlen won 202 career games at Bowling Green (53-35-4) and WVU (149-93-4) and took the Mountaineers to 13 bowl games.

Published by Sports Publishing, L.L.C., the book was written with Shelly Poe, sports information director at WVU since 1988. Poe was inducted into the College Sports Information Directors Hall of Fame on July 5.

The book will be available at the Friends Gift Shop for $19.95.

Money raised from the sale of the book will go to the Friends of West Virginia University Hospitals. The Friends support patient care and comfort throughout the hospital.
