WVU Children’s Hospital Introduces Pediatric Ground Transport Team

Mobile intensive care unit for children

WHAT:  Press conference to introduce the Pediatric Ground Transport Team at West Virginia University’s Children’s Hospital

WHEN:  10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17

WHERE:  Ruby Memorial Hospital – Front Entrance
              Morgantown, W.Va.

         Michael Romano, M.D., WVU associate professor of Pediatrics
         Melvin Wright, D.O., WVU assistant professor of Pediatrics
         Cheryl Jones, director, WVU Children’s Hospital
 
WHY:  The Pediatric Ground Transport Team offers a state-of-the-art mobile intensive care unit that provides ground transport of critically ill pediatric patients from referral sites throughout West Virginia and surrounding areas. The team, formed a little over four months ago, has already transported more than 50 sick children from all across the region to WVU Children’s Hospital.
