Diabetes Education Center Health Fair Set for April 13

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Need a helping hand with your diabetes care? Drop by the Diabetes Education Center Health Fair, April 13, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the West Lobby on the first floor in Ruby Memorial Hospital, and receive a free health screening, talk with a diabetes educator, visit information booths and win great door prizes.

Some of the free health screenings being offered throughout the event include: blood glucose, blood pressure and A1C (for those with glucose greater than 200).  An A1C test is a simple lab test that reflects an individual’s average blood glucose level for the last three months.

Exhibitors at the fair will have information on meal planning, exercise, employee wellness and the Dr. Dean Ornish Program for Reversing Heart Disease. Visitors to the fair will also have the opportunity to speak with diabetes educators, pharmacists and glucometer representatives.
