Media Advisory

WVUH to Hold Doctors Day Celebration March 30

WHAT:

Media are invited to a celebration honoring physicians at West Virginia University Hospitals as part of National Doctor’s Day

WHEN:

4 p.m. Thursday, March 30

WHERE:

Ruby Memorial Hospital Cafeteria

WHO:

WVU physicians and staff

WHY:

WVU Hospitals will hold a special celebration for physicians as part of National Doctors’ Day, which provides a time for people to show appreciation to the doctors who care for them or their loved ones. Both patients and those who work for or with physicians may recognize, thank or show appreciation by giving cards, notes, commemorative tokens of remembrance, etc. Patients who have long-term relationships with their doctors - for example, a woman during pregnancy; someone with a long-term or terminal illness; families who rely on their "family doctor"; or anyone who wants to thank a physician for the care he or she has provided - take the opportunity to single out a special doctor, psychologist, dentist, chiropractor, nurse practitioner, or other health-care professional. Those who work in doctors’ offices, hospitals or other medical facilities take advantage of a designated time to be able to express thanks and appreciation for mentoring, being easy to work with, being dedicated, or just to recognize an ongoing working relationship.
