Martinsburg Printing Company to Donate Books to WVU Children’s Hospital

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Employees of Quebecor World printing company of Martinsburg will pay a visit to West Virginia University Children’s Hospital at 1:30 p.m., Friday, to donate books to the patients.

The Martinsburg facility is part of Quebecor World business that prints many of the best sellers found in bookstores and retail stores across the country and abroad. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is among the books being donated to the WVU Children’s Hospital, is one of these best sellers. This donation is also made possible due to the generosity of Scholastic Publishing, the American publisher of the Harry Potter series of books. The other books being donated are from the Curious George series, which is published by Houghton Mifflin Company.

“We are so grateful for this wonderful donation,” said Peggy Myers-Smith, the manager of development programs at WVU Children’s Hospital.  “The books will definitely bring a smile to our patients’ faces.”

One of the goals of Quebecor World is to plan and participate in activities out in the community to help and support it’s friends and neighbors. The donation of books to children in WVU Children’s Hospital is the company’s way of trying to brighten the day of children that are going through some difficult times in their young lives. Hopefully these gifts will play a small part in the recovery process for many of the children.
