Patients Can Honor Their Doctors Online

WVU Doctor’s Day Celebration to Feature Patient Messages

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - March 30 is Doctor’s Day - and West Virginia University has established a place on the Internet for patients to express their appreciation for WVU’s physicians.

"We’ve celebrated Doctor’s Day for many years, but this is the first time we have involved patients," said Julia Phalunas, vice president for development at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center. "

If you want to let a special doctor at WVU know how much you appreciate his or her commitment to your good health, go to www.givehscwvu.org ."

Patients can write a brief personal message of appreciation to one or more physicians, or make a gift in a physician’s honor to support health care provided by WVU.

Each honored physician will receive a card including the patient’s written expression of appreciation. The physicians will be recognized at WVU’s Doctor’s Day celebration on March 30.
