Arthritis to be Topic of ‘Doctors on Call’ Jan. 26

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Arthritis is the name for a group of more than 100 different painful diseases that affect the joints of 70 million Americans. Two West Virginia University experts will answer viewers’ questions about arthritis in a live presentation of “Doctors On Call” at 8 p. m. Thursday, Jan. 26, on West Virginia Public Television.

Colleen Watkins, M.D., is a rheumatologist at WVU.  She received her medical degree from WVU and specialty training from University of Pittsburgh and WVU. Her special interests include arthritis and scleroderma.

Jo Ann Hornsby, M.D., is a rheumatologist at WVU. She received her medical degree and specialty training from Medical University of South Carolina. Her special interests include rheumatoid arthritis.

“Doctors on Call,” with host Dr. Bob D'Alessandri, is a joint production of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at WVU (www.health.wvu.edu) and West Virginia Public Broadcasting (www.wvpubcast.org), a statewide network of radio, television, Internet and educational resources.
