WVU to Hold Sugar Bowl Health Care Conference

MORGANTOWN – Physicians, nurses, dentists and pharmacists in primary care and specialty practices are invited to join a select group of faculty and alumni from West Virginia University as they present a multi-disciplinary conference on from 8 a.m.-noon on Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta.

Topics to be discussed include the basics of dental health care; prescription drug advertising; identification of drugs to prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting; differentiation between the early symptoms of acute HIV infection and the flu; and the lifestyle, dental and pharmacologic implications of chronic kidney disease.

The conference is sponsored by the WVU Office of Continuing Education for the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Dentistry, the WVU School of Pharmacy Office of Continuing Education and the Health Sciences Office of Alumni Affairs. Continuing education is available. The course fee for WVU full-time faculty, staff, residents and studens is $65 for pre-registered participants and $95 for walk-ins; the course fee for the general public is $95 for pre-registered participants and $125 for walk-ins. The course fee includes materials, refreshment break and educational credit. The continental breakfast is being provided by the Health Sciences Office of Alumni Affairs. Football tickets are not available through the WVU Office of Continuing Education.

Please be sure to include all information requested.  All registrations must be received by Dec. 26 to receive the pre-registration fee.
