Kohl’s to Pay Special Visit to Patients

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Five associates from the newly opened Clarksburg Kohl’s Department store will be on hand Monday, Oct. 31, to help patients at WVU Children’s Hospital celebrate Halloween. The associates will assist with a Halloween craft as well as participating in the hospital party. The visit will also include the presentation of a check for more than $65,000 on behalf of the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program.

Since 1999, the Kohl’s Cares for Kids program has contributed nearly $150,000 to WVU Children’s Hospital. Funds are raised through in-store promotions.

“We are looking forward to the Kohl’s visit very much,” said Peggy Myers-Smith, the manager of development programs at WVU Children’s Hospital. “Kohl’s is such a dedicated sponsor and we are excited that they have a chance to come visit us this year.”

Each year more than 7,500 children are admitted to WVU Children’s Hospital. These children come from every county as well as the surrounding states. “Kohl’s contributions truly help our children,” said Myers-Smith. “This is a wonderful opportunity of the associates to physically see what all their hard work has done over the years.”
