WVUH Offers Medical Surgical Review Course

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University Hospitals will host "Medical Surgical Review," a comprehensive two-day workshop that prepares nurses for the Medical Surgical Certification Exam from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) on Oct. 15.

The workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday and Friday, Sept. 22 and 23, in the John Jones Conference Center of the WVU Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center and is open to nurses from all specialties.

Kendra Menzies, RN, MS, a staff nurse in the Neurosurgical ICU at Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas, will be the speaker. Her work experience includes critical care education for surgical/trauma, neurosurgical and thoracic surgery, management positions and trauma clinical nurse specialist. Menzies is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and by the Association of Neuroscience Nurses. 

The cost of the seminar is $150, with discounts available to WVU, WVUH and UHA employees. Participants will receive 15 contact hours after completing this program. For more information about the workshop, contact Lori Constantine at the WVUH Education & Training Department at 598-4063.
