Pain to be Topic of ‘Doctors on Call’ July 7

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Acute or chronic pain can be debilitating and affect both work and home life.  Its consequences are physical and psychological.  Two West Virginia University experts will answer viewers’ questions about pain in a live presentation of “Doctors On Call” at 8 p.m., Thursday, July 7, on West Virginia Public Television.

Rick Vaglienti, M.D., is a pain specialist and an anesthesiologist at WVU.  He received his medical degree and specialty training from WVU. His special interests include pain management and disability evaluations.

Trevor Swann, P.T., is a physical therapist and practice administrator at HealthWorks in Morgantown. He received his degree from the University of Pennsylvania. His special interests include chronic pain management and prevention of falls in the elderly.

“Doctors on Call,” with host Dr. Bob D'Alessandri, is a joint production of the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center at WVU (www.health.wvu.edu) and West Virginia Public Broadcasting (www.wvpubcast.org), a statewide network of radio, television, Internet and educational resources.
