WVU Hospitals, United Way Clothing Drive Starts Monday

Children’s Clothes, Scrub Suits in Demand

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Nurses at WVU Hospitals are collecting children’s clothing and medical scrub suits for Christian Help, in conjunction with the United Way Day of Caring. On Wednesday, May 18, the community can drop off donations to the Mileground Armory from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Day of Caring participants can bring items to the Mountaineer Mall Community Room from 11-11:45 a.m. that day.

Items can also be dropped off at WVU Hospitals’ Volunteer Services Office on weekdays from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on Monday, May 9, through Tuesday, May 17. The Volunteer Office is located on the hospital’s first floor, behind the Friends Gift Shop.

The organizers are seeking boys’ and girls’ clothing, including pants, socks and underclothing. The focus is on back-to-school clothing, but summer items will be accepted – along with shoes, backpacks and school supplies.

The scrub suits are being collected for Christian Help’s Women’s Career Clothing Closet.

All donations can be “used” but should be in excellent condition and ready for use. Underclothing should be new. All donations are tax-deductible.
