« Healthcare Highlights WVU Healthcare Expo 2013 Visit the WVU Healthcare Expo to learn about good health, talk with experts, and get free or low-cost health screenings or assessments. The 2013 Expo will be held on Friday, October 4, from 8 am to 7 pm at the Morgantown Mall. This year, fifty-two exhibitors from WVU Healthcare, WVU Health Sciences, and other affiliates will gather to make this one of the area’s largest wellness events. Assessments and Screenings There will be a variety of screenings and assessments available. Most are free or require a small fee. Assessments Body fat analyses Body mass index measurements Diabetes risk assessments and glucose screenings Stroke risk assessments Heartburn assessments Heart Health Carotid artery screenings Electrocardiograms (EKGs) Leg varicose vein and circulation consultations Ultrasound screenings – abdominal aorta Screenings Blood pressure screenings Bone density screenings and ultrasound screenings – gallbladder and abdominal aorta Cholesterol screenings (Total and HDL) –$10 fasting not required Glaucoma and vision screenings Pulmonary function screenings Clinical Care WVU Cheat Lake Physicians will offer flu shots for $25. You must be 8 years or older to receive the vaccine. Cash or checks will be accepted, and the shot is free for those with a Medicare card. WVU Clinical Laboratories will offer blood screenings from 6:30 am – noon: Multiphasic PSA Vitamin D Hemoglobin A1C Thyroid stimulating hormone Bonnie’s Bus Mobile Mammography will be performing mammogram screenings from 9 am to 2 pm. WVU Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center will offer clinical breast exams all day.
