Your Providers:

Faculty Clinic: Any patient can choose to be seen by a postdoctoral student or faculty member in this clinic.

Graduate Student Clinic: All orthodontic students perform under the direct supervision of experienced faculty. This ensures that every aspect of your treatment meets professional standards and that you'll receive the highest quality of care possible. If a patient's orthodontic needs cannot be accommodated in the student clinic, the patient will be referred to the faculty clinic.
What Is Orthodontics?:

Orthodontics is a specialized discipline of dentistry that focuses on the treatment of tooth and jaw alignment.

Dentofacial orthopedics is a branch of orthodontics that involves normalizing the growth of a patient’s bone structure and repairing any imbalances of the face and jaws. This treatment process is usually performed on children whose teeth and jaw bones are still forming. When performed on adults, surgery is often involved.

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children should be seen as early as age six for an orthodontic consult.

The WVU Orthodontic Clinic is equipped to provide treatment services for both standard orthodontic work and dentofacial orthopedics.

Fast fact: When it comes to orthodontia needs, receiving early care
during the pediatric years often yields better results for a patient.
